Why We Built UNSUNG
The teammates. The road trips. The big wins. And everything in between.
Think about the last big game you won. You probably remember the play that made the difference. But you also remember who you celebrated with, what happened in the locker room afterward, and the ridiculous stuff somebody said on the bus ride home.
That's the thing about team sports. The games are what bring us together, but everything around them is what makes being on a team so great.
That's a big part of why we started UNSUNG.
We know what it's like to be part of a team.
Our founders grew up playing hockey, lacrosse, and softball, eventually competing at the college and professional levels. We've been part of great teams, terrible practices, unbelievable wins, and losses we'd rather forget.
And when we think back on those years, it's the people we remember most.
The teammate who pushed us when we were coasting. The one who could make everyone laugh after a brutal practice. The one who would do absolutely anything to win, as long as the team won with them.
Those are the athletes we admire. The ones who make everyone around them better.
We wanted to build a brand that gets that side of sports. One that makes great products, celebrates great athletes, and understands that No One Wins Alone.
So why start with a shoe?
Good question.
If you play hockey or lacrosse, you know training isn't just running in a straight line. One minute you're sprinting, the next you're cutting, shuffling, jumping, or getting after it in the weight room.
And chances are you've been doing all of that in shoes that weren't really designed for it.
Running shoes are great for running. Lifting shoes have their place. But we wanted something built for how team-sport athletes actually train.
So we decided to make it ourselves.
More than two years, countless prototypes, and three rounds of wear testing later, we had the Snapback Trainer.
Along the way, more than 50 high school, college, and professional athletes, coaches, and trainers helped put it through its paces. They told us what worked, what didn't, and what needed to be better.
We listened. Made changes. Tested again.
The result is a training shoe built for speed, agility, strength, and all the different ways you move getting ready for game day.
This is just the beginning.
We're proud of the Snapback. But UNSUNG was never going to be just about shoes.
We want to celebrate everything that makes being part of a team worth it. The friendships, the rivalries, the traditions, the competitiveness, and the people who bring out the best in you.
We'll celebrate the game winners and the athletes making the highlights. Absolutely.
But we'll also celebrate the teammate who made the extra pass, stayed for one more rep, or got the whole locker room going when everyone needed a lift.
Because every great team has those people.
And if you've ever been lucky enough to play with them, you know exactly what we're talking about.
